John S. Garner recently joined the firm, and as a former Naval Officer he brings extensive maritime experience to our practice. Through Naval shipboard assignments on forward deployed minesweepers and cruisers, he served as officer of the deck and conning officer during live mine hunting operations in the Persian Gulf and later in support of aircraft operations in the West Pacific and South China Sea. After his Naval service ended with an assignment in New Orleans, John remained in the Gulf Coast region to obtain a Master of Law in Admiralty degree from Tulane University in New Orleans. He also received a law degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a bachelor of science degree in journalism from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. He is admitted to the state and federal courts of Mississippi, Louisiana, and New Mexico, and he is also a member of the state bar of Wisconsin.
